The First Law of Attraction - Like Attracts Like

Eddie Conner (www.eddieconner.com) introduced the hosts and took the group through a wonderful guided meditation that cleansed our chakras and set the stage for the meeting.

Mike briefly reviewed the laws of attraction (see previous post) and the group viewed the opening video of Esther Hicks explaining the Laws of Attraction.   Esther Hicks Video

Ramona asked the group if they were living the life they dreamed of. And, if not, she suggested we work together to get on the path to our dreams. The evening’s exercises and discussions were designed to find out what we want, what’s blocking us from getting it, and how to set and maintain a happy, joyful vibration.

Blockages
Ramona read a quote from Abraham that talks about relationships, but in reality relates to everything we want in life. Relationships I Don't Want, Clarify Those I Do Want... Whenever you know what you do not want, you always know more clearly what you do want. So in a disturbing moment of awareness of another person's undesirable situation, give your undivided attention to the idea of improvement that has hatched from your interaction /observation. And as you learn to do that, not only will you be of increasing value to others, but you will see how your relationships with others adds immeasurably to your own becoming.        --- Abraham

The first exercise is designed to get rid of blockages that keep us from getting what we want. These are the memories that haunt us and seem to be ever present in our minds, keeping us from thinking of the things we want. It could be something from our childhood such as a disparaging comment made by a parent, teacher or friend, or an experience with a step-parent, ex-lover or co-worker. Since we attract what we think, we need to think about what we want without these bad memories taking up space in our minds. Ramona took us through the following visualization.

Close your eyes. Think of the memory that haunts you the most – the teacher, relative, ex-friend, lover, coworker – and do the following visualization. Get comfortable and close your eyes. Picture a large basket with a handle. It can be wicker, willow, created by the fairies of the universe, whatever kind of beautiful basket you desire. Place the haunting memory into the basket and say “You have haunted me for years…. I have learned the lesson you came to teach….. You are no longer of service to me..…  You need to leave me now.” Visualize a bunch of brightly colored helium filled balloons-picture every color of the rainbow and even colors that don’t yet exist. Tie this glorious bunch of balloons to your basket. Now say goodbye to the basket and the memory as you release it from your grasp. Watch it rise up into the sky, gently pushed by the breeze, disappearing forever. Now FEEL the lightness and freedom because you have released that memory as you slowly come out of the visualization.

If the memory returns, do this visualization again. Once that memory has been released, pick the next memory that haunts you. Keep doing this until you are free from all bad memories.

Want List
Mike suggested we list the things we want in life. Over time, as we think of the things we want, we should add them to the list and keep the list with us. It will serve as a good reminder of what we should be thinking about. The “wants” should be stated in positive terms without contradictions. There will be more work on this aspect in our next meeting. 

Vibration
Ramona discussed how to set and keep our vibration high, fast and pure. Whatever we think about becomes our vibration. The more we think about it, the stronger the thought becomes. At full strength it becomes a belief. We need to make sure our beliefs are in harmony with our instincts. Our emotions can be the gauge to determine if our beliefs are in the right vibration.
