Abraham's Time Management 101

Ramona opened the meeting with updates

Eddie Conner provided another on-point meditation via Skype. His meditation included the following expressions developed from the acronym “TIME”:
              1) TIME = Thought I'm Managing Easily
2) TIME = Things I'm Miraculously Elevating
3) TIME = Things I'm Magically Erasing
4) TIME = Time is Magnificent Energy
5) TIME = Thinking Illuminated Miracles Every Day

Ramona presented a mock “To Do” list. Comments included feelings of being overwhelmed, frazzled, energy not flowing evenly, judgment being impaired, even adrenal fatigue. We discussed some traditional time management techniques, such as a “to do” list, priority list, Google calendar, PDA lists, and making a list at night just before going to bed-both daily accomplishments and a list of tomorrow’s tasks. Lists can be micromanaging, exhibit our need for control, and can create pressure to get the job done. We should remember we are human beings, not human doings.

Solutions – Set a schedule, have a prioritized list, pre-pave the day (script how you want it to go), use segment intending, lump errands together. Most important – if we stay connected to Source, issues will tend to solve themselves.

Abraham says we do not need more time. We need less resistance.

To diffuse resistance, use these techniques: be sure to focus; don’t worry about the outcome because it will come; ask “what will take off the pressure I am feeling”; stretch your time; ignore the fear; connect “fun” with the project; meditate; identify your unconscious limiting beliefs; refocus back into the now. Remember resistance is the opposite of allowing

Abraham says we need to manage our energy. Here are some thoughts.

Our power is in the now. We cannot do anything about the past or the future, and time management is attempting to manage the future. Concentrate on the now.

To do lists can make us feel guilty. We need to relax when we need it. Deliberately have fun and deliberately rest when we need it – every day.

We can change our expectations. For example, someone who used to go out looking for new business now sits back and expects it to come, by using the law of attraction.

Do not split energies. Pre-pave it. Before we start a task we should line up with it energetically and picture the task going the way we want it to go.

Abraham has a process for time management they call “The Placemat Process”.  For more information see Jerry’s descriptive video. .  Or to hear Esther explain it to someone in the hot seat, view this video

Ramona read a segment from a famous poem by David Wagoner:
LOST
What do you do when you’re lost in the forest?
Stand Still.
The trees ahead, the bushes beside you are not lost.
Wherever you are is called here.

The point of it is when you’re overwhelmed and lost, stand still.  Abraham recommends stopping, back up to a place where you feel good, then start over from that good feeling place.

Abraham says: Reduce your workload by 30% and increase your fun load by 30% and you will increase your revenues by 100%. And, you will increase your productivity by 10,000%. More fun, less struggle – more results on all fronts.”

Our closing video was Chill Your Way into the Vortex.

What Do You Choose to Think?

Recap - The evening’s meeting centered on the topic of choosing our words carefully so that we are sure we are attracting what we truly want. We always get what we ask for. Making sure our request is clear is of utmost importance.

Ramona introduced Eddie Conner who provided an inspiring meditation.

We viewed an Abraham video on “Thoughts”.  Abraham’s “17 second” rule was discussed. When we maintain a pure positive thought for 17 uninterrupted seconds, it is equivalent to spending 2000 action hours. There is an excellent description of this rule at 17 Seconds Explained.

The group participated in an exercise analyzing some statements and determining why we might think we are attracting one thing, but have actually asked for something different. Revised statements were suggested and discussed. The goal was to revise them further to make sure we get what we are asking for. Many wonderful suggestions were made.

Original statement: I am trying to lose weight again.
Revised statement: I am grateful and thankful for my perfect weight.

Original statement: All the good ones are taken already.
Revised statement: My life is filled with many great people.

Original statement: That driver is texting instead of paying attention.
Revised statement: I pay attention to my own safe driving.

We closed with another Abraham video The Best Meditation Ever.

Ramona recommended a book on the importance of having a balanced brain. It is an inspirational true story about a scientist who had a stroke at age 37 and learned to use her right brain. The title is "My Stroke of Insight" by Jill Bolte Taylor, Ph D.

Our next meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 1.

Don’t forget that Eddie Conner is conducting a three-hour class “OMG! How Did I Attract THIS!” at SpiritWorks on Saturday, November 5 starting at 10AM. Sign up through our Meet Up site.

Member in the Spotlight - Beverly Collins
At one of our first meetings Beverly expressed her desire to stand in front of a large audience motivating them. Well guess what happens when we have a pure desire and ask the Universe!

Beverly Collins was honored by having one of her poems chosen in the celebration of the 40th anniversary of the Pacific-Asia Museum. She read her poem at the event held on October 1. Her book, "Quiet Observations" is available on Amazon.com.  What is Beverly's philosophy?   "I like to share how magically one thing leads to another. It is so important to trust that we are never alone in our lives. We get so much from not pushing for anything. Our true treasure is found simply by tapping into flow. Peace be still."

Congratulations, Beverly. You are on your path to realizing your manifestation.

Our Emotional Guidance Scale

We opened with a meditation from Deepak Chopra

Eddie Conner  provided an inspiring presentation on how we contradict ourselves, thinking we are asking the Universe for something we want – BUT – actually asking for the opposite. He calls it BUT-tradicting ourselves.

Eddie has a wonderful newsletter available free of charge. If you wish to receive Eddie's newsletter, sign up on Eddie'sWebsite in the lower right hand corner.

The group reviewed the scale of emotions as proposed by Abraham, from best to worst, as follows:

1.       Joy/Knowledge/Empowerment/Freedom/Love/Appreciation
2.      Passion
3.      Enthusiasm/Eagerness/Happiness
4.      Positive Expectation/Belief
5.      Optimism
6.      Hopefulness
7.      Contentment
8.     Boredom
9.      Pessimism
10.   Frustration/Irritation/Impatience
11.    Overwhelment
12.   Disappointment
13.   Doubt
14.   Worry
15.   Blame
16.   Discouragement
17.   Anger
18.   Revenge
19.   Hatred/Rage
20.  Jealousy
21.   Insecurity/Guilt/Unworthiness
22.  Fear/Grief/Depression/Despair/Powerlessness

For more information, see Chapter 22 of “Ask and it is Given.”

The group did some exercises as examples of how to move up the scale when we find ourselves in a place we’d rather not be.  Mike explained the range of emotions and how he moved up the scale after receiving the cancer diagnosis. Another emotion is the loss of a pet or someone we love.  We can move up the scale by becoming angry, worrying about the family of the deceased, be disappointed that the person is no longer around, overwhelmed with all that needs to be done, pessimistic about our unknown future, boredom during the service, up to appreciating the life of the deceased. It is also helpful to believe their energy is still with us.

Some key points are 1) We can't jump from 22 to 1 - must take it in steps; and 2) We should make ourselves set time limits on each step.

Choosing Your Reality with Power

This posting is a compilation of two meetings – August 9 and 16, 2011.

Eddie Conner opened the meeting with a meditation. Visit his website www.eddieconner.com.

Our Skype guest was David Tillman, noted psychic, clairvoyant and actor. David explained how he gives power to his manifestation by pulling his energy to his heart chakra. Since our energies are dispersed to all the things affecting us in our daily lives, he makes sure his energy is grounded by pulling only his energy to his heart chakra. When grounded, he sends out his energy through his third eye and asks the Universe to allow his manifestation. To David it appears as a light beam emanating from his third eye.

David provided an example. When preparing for an audition, he sends the light into the audition room ahead of him. The light is filled with warm thoughts to connect with those he is about to meet. He feels his energy meet him at the door and knows if it is working when the people in the room are smiling and friendly as he enters. David’s website is www.psychicdave.com.

The meeting subject is “Choosing your reality with power.” We discussed how we can alter, shift and recreate our reality at will. Occasionally something or someone interrupts our vibration and we feel ourselves starting that slippery slope down, passing bad feelings, past discouragement, maybe even all the way to depression. These circumstances typically fall into one of the following categories: relationships, money, career or health. What can we do to pull ourselves up?

The answer is to recreate the vibration within ourselves that makes us happy. This can be achieved by listening to music, recalling a favorite scene, recalling an inspiring story or quote, laughing at it, or ignoring it. When emotionally moved by the good feelings these thoughts provide, the body releases serotonin which makes us feel good, boosts our immune system and contributes to our emotional health. If these simple steps do not work, we can accept it, appreciate it, or observe it – all without judgment. We can also send love and light to the situation, and surround ourselves with love and light for protection. Most important is to focus on what does work.

Call to mind someone who really pushes your buttons, a person who perhaps all too often crawls around inside your brain. Let that person crawl for a full minute. Go ahead and notice how you feel. Chances are you’ll feel constricted and uncomfortable, as thought of that person connect to intricate webs of related worries. Now stop and shift your mind to someone who you truly admire. Fully envision that person and allow all of her or his related qualities and feelings to fill your mind. Chances are that you will begin to feel more expanded, relaxed and happy.

Now consider how often we allow the button-pushers to dwell in our minds, rather than the ones we admire. Many people will spend more time on the former than the latter. Indeed research suggests that our minds tend to focus on the negative. By putting our attention on people who bother us, and activating all the neural networks associated with negative people, we become more like them. However, placing our attention on people we admire opens up a different set of neural networks, ones that release serotonin, that make us happy and help us embody those qualities in ourselves.

Here are some other thoughts that were offered as tools to create a new reality:

Think of something positive. If your positive thought isn’t perfect, just think of something that is more comfortable feeling.
Limit the amount of radio and TV news we listen to.
Listen to an Abraham CD.
Control what you can; let go of the rest.
Think about things that make you happy.
Watch funny videos on You Tube.
Tell a new story.
Do whatever makes you feel good, happy and free.
Remember Jerry’s story about having his photo taken with the Prime Minister.
Look forward – not in your rear view mirror. Forget the past. It has passed.
Ask yourself ‘How good can I be to myself today?”
Ask “Wouldn’t it be nice if…” This is a good way to change your day if you find yourself in a bad mood.
Ask “If you knew you wouldn’t fail, what would you want to do?”

Ramona shared a piece from Rumi entitled “Guest House”.

This human being is a guest house, every morning a new arrival.
A joy, a depression, a meanness,
some momentary awareness comes as an unexpected visitor.
Welcome and entertain them all!
Even if they are a crowd of sorrows,
who violently sweep your house empty of its furniture,
still treat each guest honorably.
He may be clearing you out for some new delight.
The dark thought, the shame, the malice,
meet them at the door laughing, and invite them in.
Be grateful for whoever comes,
because each has been sent as a guide from beyond.

Input was sought about holding one meeting for the entire group at an outside location in Burbank. This would require charging a small fee, less than other Meet Up groups, to cover rental and equipment. Mike and Ramona will front the money for the equipment, and once they are reimbursed, the meeting fee will be reduced. Your thoughts would be appreciated. Email Ramona at rmucciolo@charter.net with your thoughts.

It gives us great pleasure to announce that three members of our Burbank group are spreading the word on the Law of Attraction through different means. Julie Perkins has a blog filled with Law of Attraction lessons written in her humorous style. Be sure to check it out. http://theyearoflivingjoyously.blogspot.com/.

Nikki has started a group for children and young adults.  LOA Youth provides motivating and empowering lectures, seminars and retreats for youth ages 25 and under focusing on the law of attraction, life choices & more!  http://loayouth.org/.

And Yael maintains a blog to record the moments that make your heart glow each day.  It is designed to encourage people to look only for what they want to see: love, humor and happiness. Yael encourages people to write and share their bright moments. http://silverwhitedoe.blogspot.com/.

Next meeting will be Tuesday, September 6, 2011. The location will probably be offsite, so watch our postings for the new location.

Mastermind Q&A, with special Skype guest Cynthia Richmond

Eddie Conner provided another inspiring meditation to open the meeting. Ramona asked the members to update the group on what’s been happening in their lives.

Our Skype guest was Cynthia Richmond, renowned Journalist, Author, Educator, speaker, and Board Certified Behavioral Therapist. Her website is DreamPower.Net and is listed under “Other Sites with Valuable Information” on this blog.  Cynthia has written two books, Dream Power and The Dream Power Journal, both available on Amazon.com.

Cynthia Richmond specializes in dream interpretation. She teaches people how to remember their dreams and how to make their dreams work for them. For example, tell yourself before going to sleep that you want to remember your dreams. Write down your questions in your journal before going to sleep. When you awake, record your dream in your journal.  Keep a “light-up” pen by your bed in case you wake up during the night.

To make your dreams work for you, ask yourself what’s in your highest and best interest. Then ask your dreams to help you fix the problem, or what the best treatment is for this ailment. You can imagine what you want before going to sleep, and get the answer in your dreams.

Several members asked Cynthia for interpretations of dreams which she generously provided. Explanations were given for dreams within dreams, dreams of people who have passed on, astral projections and

Cynthia offers a new personal Dream Coach package including a one hour Skype or telephone consultation and then three ½ hour sessions a week apart allowing dreamers to reach their goals or make their dreams come true. To contact Cynthia, visit her website, DreamPower.Net.

Several members asked questions of the group during the mastermind segment. Topics included how to control worrying, health/career dilemma, keeping focus on your intentions without being too focused, and bouncing back from upsetting events.

Next meeting is scheduled for August 9.

Here is the exercise Eddie Conner used, called the 5 why game.

Did you know the human brain triggers on questions not statements? There are two types of questions: Hi-Frequency and Low Frequency.

Hi-Frequency questions move us forward in positive directions, empowering us to identify our strengths. Questions that amplify new ideas, improved approaches and moving us into inspired action are the best.

Low-Frequency questions do the opposite. Questions like, Could it possibly get worse? Why am I such a loser? And what’s your problem? Are poverty ridden, lack-luster, blame ridden questions keeping us stuck in negative mental and physical cycles.

Why Ask Why – Five Times?
It gets us to the heart of the matter. When we ask Why from a loving place we move quickly through layers of outdated programs keeping us stuck and lifeless. Case-in-point, I want to feel lighter in my body. I’m currently 210 and instead of asking Low Frequency Questions that feel disempowering, I’ve learned to ask Hi-Frequency Questions that move me forward into inspired action.

Why do I want to feel lighter in my body?
Because I know I’ll feel better.

Why do I want to feel better?
Because I’ve been lighter before and I enjoy the feeling of confidence it brought.

Why do I want to feel good?
Because feeling good makes me more productive and happy.

Why do I want to accomplish productive things?
Because I like positive movement forward, plus I have more energy!

Why do I want more energy?
I have a lot of great things I’m working on and more energy feels GREAT!

You can ask Hi-Frequency questions to move you forward in any subject. Asking Why stirs the brain and makes it more solution oriented on our behalf because our brain triggers on questions, not statements!

CREATE A NEW STORY With Special Skype Guest Barb Vercande

Ramona opened the meeting by welcoming the new members and asking for updates from those who care to share.

Eddie Conner took the group through a guided meditation on getting rid of past obstacles that impede us from living the life we want, and creating a new story that describes the life we want.

Mike introduced Barb Vercande, our Skype guest for the evening. Barb is a member of our Michigan group and coaches people who are stuck living a life they don’t want and unable to break old habits. Her practice helps people create a new story so they can live the life they want with passion.

Barb shared her process for creating our new story. It begins with writing down every decision we make and why we made it. Do this for a month. Then review the list for patterns. We do many things out of habit or because someone else (usually a role model) did them that way.

When a story runs through our minds, ask if it is our own voice or someone else’s. If it is someone else, stop because it probably is not true for us.

Now that we understand our old story, we are ready to start our new one. There are three components of the new story:
·         It must be based in truth.
·         It must be aligned with our purpose.
·         It must motivate us to take joy-filled action.

The three steps to creating a new story are:
·    Write the old story first. This will clarify what we don’t want so we can be clear about what we do want. Be sure to include emotions.
·    Read the story to ourselves. Notice how we feel and where the feelings are coming from.
·    Write a new story. Start with “The truth is…”  Describe how life will be if we continue to live our old story. Then describe our new story, what it looks like, feels like, and how it connects to our life purpose. Be sure the story brings out good emotional feelings. And make sure it is the story we want.

We know we have the right story when:
·         The story takes us where we want to go.
·         It is in alignment with our life purpose-those things that are important to us.
·         It is grounded in truth.
·         We are inspired to take action.

In summary, the story should make us feel satisfied emotionally, physically, intellectually, and spiritually.

Barb made two special offers to our group.  Barb has a new service called the Passion Test. This is two one-hour sessions where we will discover what is most important to us and start living a passionate life right away. Barb’s regular fee is $200. Our group price is $50, a 75% discount. Just mention “Abraham” in the subject line of your email to her. Barb’s website is www.createanewstory.com and her email address is Barb@createanewstory.com.  Thank you Barb!

The other offer from Barb is for members to receive a free 5-day mini course "Create My New Story" by going to her website and signing up for her newsletter.

The worksheets that were passed out are available on the meet up site under the "More" tab.

After Barb’s presentation, the group shared some of their stories and others helped decipher the issues and solutions. It was our best meeting yet.

The Assignment:  Create A New Story for yourself.

Next meeting is June 21 and the subject will be “Mastermind Q & A” where members can ask the group for help with anything and as a group we will mastermind the answer. See you there.

Abraham Processes to Get Into and Stay In the Vortex, with special Skype guest Kute Blackson

Ramona opened the meet up by asking for updates from members. It was a time filled with wonderful stories of manifestations realized.  Then it was followed by a video meditation from Kute Blackson entitled The Miracle is You

Our Skype guest was Kute Blackson. Source already exists within us in our consciousness. When we connect to our true self and open ourselves up to who we are, not who we think we are, something magical happens. We have awareness with all that exists and life flows through us in the totality that is the miracle of life. Action taken from that place carries with it the Universal power. This creates a synergy where 2+2 equals more than 4, up to infinity. The “something” that brought us into existence created life and therefore has the power to do anything. Getting into alignment with that Universal power is simple – sit, breathe, be still, listen, and you will know who you are.   Once connected we no longer need to manifest because there is no separation from Source. So if you just surrender to Source, manifesting becomes a part of everyday life.

Kute also announced his total immersion trip to Bali later this year. It is designed for those of us who consider ourselves visionary leaders, filled with the spirit of adventure, who seek self-discovery through travel, never settling for the status quo. For more information see BoundlessBlissBali.com. Mention Eddie Conner as a reference. If you ever want to see the Bali most tourists never see and come away from the experience renewed in spirit and direction, this is the trip for you.

The topic for the evening is “Abraham Processes.” We watched a video on the Virtual Reality Process. Members gave examples of how they use this process to achieve their dreams.

We viewed a Focus Wheel Video that explained the process by using an example. Ramona’s handouts included handed a blank focus wheel and explanation of how to prepare one.

A Treasure Map is a form of Vision Board with cut outs from magazines and written descriptions of whatever you are manifesting. Eddie Conner shared a couple of Treasure Maps he has used successfully in the past. One was to see Madonna’s world tour and the other was to see Cher in concert. Both desires came true at no cost to Eddie.

The Placemat Process Video was viewed. Abraham invented this process to segregate the list of what she has to do into two lists – what she has to do today, and what she will leave to the Universe to do. Members gave examples of how they use the placemat process or variations thereof. This process tends to be easier to use for the predominantly left-brained people. The handouts included an explanation of this process.

Included with the handouts referred to above were an explanation of pivoting and the lyrics to Kute Blackson’s “The Miracle is You.”

We closed with Kute Blackson’s “Love Now” video.

Next meeting is scheduled for May 24. Suggested topic is “Write a New Story” with special Skype guest Barb VerCande, a member of our Michigan group who coaches people to change their lives through this process.

Future Meetings:
            May 24
            June 21
